Playgrounds are every kid’s la la land- a happy place where they can scream their hearts filled with joy and excitement. While playgrounds are essential parts of childhood, unfortunately, such outdoor facility offer imminent danger at all times. As a mom, I wouldn’t ban my kids from playing as long as I enforce these safety rules:
Wear comfortable clothes
Prior to leaving the house for a play date, make sure that everyone is wearing the right clothes. Let your kids wear fit clothes and closed-toe shoes that are lace-free to avoid potential strangulation and falls. You don’t want to freak out on broken bones and bumps on their foreheads, right?
Keep it age-appropriate
Experts highly recommend to always check the age recommendations of the toys and equipment that your kid want to explore. Also, check the safety of the area and assess whether your child can manage sliding and climbing prior to letting him wander in the playground.
Keep your focus
NEVER leave your kids unattended. This golden rule in every playground should be followed at all times. It means that parents and guardians should be responsible enough to look after the safety and well-being of their children. If you see your child doing something that might be hazardous, stop her immediately and please, just use your phones for urgent reasons.
Monitor the weather
You might want to check weather updates before heading out in your local playground. Extreme heat causes skin to burn and after rain sessions with the playground causes drowning and falls. Go for playgrounds that have covered areas to protect your kids from the crazy changes in weather.
