In my thirty years of existence, I have earned wonderful female friendships whom I met in various stages of my life. From snack companions to pals at work, these girls are my reliable sisters in my highs and lows.
- Childhood besties
Who can forget their very first friends who shared their school snacks and asked their moms to organize a sleepover and play on your improvised castles? Childhood friends introduced us to playdates and hilarious dance moves. I’m lucky that I still have this crazy bunch after all these years. I must say they are the friends who defined loyalty, integrity, and compassion as they have witnessed countless joys and failures.
- Independence buddies
When you moved out from the comfort of your home to pursue your college degree in another city or country, these female friends influenced you to clubbing and a bit of boozing. While the partying scene was fun, these soul sisters inspired me to better my best in my studies and accompanied me in my journey towards independence.
- Allies at work
Officemates turned colleagues turned saviors- your coworkers who covered your absence because you were too lazy to drag yourself to work because you had a big fight with your partner. These are the friends whom you can talk about your family and other friends you rarely meet. I’m lucky I have fellow moms in the office who understood the need to rush going home because my baby is sick. I’ve always been comfortable in public breastfeeding when I’m with them.
